Insidious Ubiquitous by Dr. Timothy Pence

Continuously… Daily and nightly we are exposed to numerous toxic chemicals (poisons). They’re in the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the cars and highways we drive, our floors, walls, and furnishings, they’re in the household cleansers, the shampoos, conditioners, body washes, and our makeup. Ironically, toxic chemicals are in the very medications we take to alleviate our symptoms that are often caused in part by toxic chemicals.

Insidious (more dangerous than seems evident)
Ubiquitous (seemingly present everywhere)

That we live in a sea of toxicity is hardly news…that our bodies are exceptionally equipt to deal with this toxicity may be news to many! A HEALTHY BODY can withstand and triumphantly handle a lot of stressors! At every level from the cellular, organ, gland to whole body systems our bodies continuously detect, handle, and eliminate toxins in a complex and coordinated fashion.

So what’s the problem? Obviously, an acute massive exposure to a toxic chemical can overwhelm these defenses and may necessitate immediate medical alarm and intervention to prevent death. More commonly however is the gradual “unalarming” accumulation of chemical toxins due to an increasing and persistent exposure and a decreased ability of the body to sufficiently detox. In a nutritionally deficient body the cleansing or detoxifying systems are not efficient. In an effort to survive the stressed body over time shoves toxins away from vital organs into less important areas such as joints, fatty tissues, and “lesser” glands and organs. Although there are others, the most common chemical offenders that we detect in the Future Doc practice are; chlorine, formaldehyde, plastics, hydrocarbons, and medications.

In the Future Doc Practice the presence and effect of these chemical toxicities are monitored as are the other common stressors introduced in previous issues of LBSPY. By correcting nutritional deficiencies and the resulting organ/glandular dysfunction health can be restored. In many of these cases, the presenting symptoms (the reason why the patient wanted help) often resolve without specific treatment of the symptomatic area. For example, a patient with left and right elbow pain was found to have a toxicity due to medications, which was resolved after a few weeks of Nutritional detox and no specific treatment of his elbow or his medical diagnosis of tendonitis. Here I go again… “anything can cause anything”!!

“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and the cause and prevention of disease.” – Thomas A. Edison (1847-1931)
