Friday, Oct 31: Get Lawless on Halloween!

Lawless Brown

You are encouraged to get lawless this Halloween (Friday, October 31) w/ Lawless Brown and special guests, Rivertown Gypsies at the Lewis Theatre. Lawless Brown is known to keep the crowd dancing with their funk, soul, and reggae style. Rivertown Gypsies performs a soulful infusion of acoustic rock, folk, and blues. The show starts at 8pm. Admission is $10 and the theatre is located on N. Court Street in downtown Lewisburg.

If you don’t have a costume idea yet, the bands invite you to “join the ranks of seafaring raiders of pirates vs. vikings”. Dress up as a viking, a pirate, or better yet… a viking pirate. The best costume(s) will win prizes.

Not only is the theme fun and engaging, but this event is kind of ‘big deal’ for Lawless Brown. They will be celebrating their first studio album. The record is called: “On the Mend” and will include songs: Trouble Clef, Taking a Bow, Keyed, Love be a Nation, Predator, 3 Steps Back, Primus T Shirt, Greta, Hold On, and the aptly named “On the Mend”.

The naming of the album is significant to the bands’ members as it holds reference to various events that have affected their lives both personally and professionally.

If you’re already a big fan of the band and are interested in buying the record, bring an extra $10 cash. They will be available for purchase at the show on thumb drive bracelets.

Other parties for the night include Swerv’n Nick Irvine’s DJ/Karaoke Halloween Party at the Sweet Shoppe in downtown Lewisburg and it starts at 9pm. If you’re out in Pocahontas County, the Pretty Penny Café in Hillsboro will host their annual Halloween bash coincided with their 5-year anniversary. There will be food, DJ and dance music, and a costume contest. Party starts at 8pm.

Don’t stay home this Halloween. Get out and enjoy the company of good friends and great music.
