Escape the Winter Blues on Friday, March 6th and head to downtown Lewisburg, WV after 5pm for First Friday! Enjoy samples of Top 10 Wines under $10 at Bella the Corner Gourmet, art by the quilters guild, good tastings at the Pepper Shed, Rivertown Gypsies at the Irish Pub, Trillium performances, and more! Everyone is welcome!

Carnegie Hall hosts the Creative Youth Art Exhibit, a show featuring the best artwork from students, grades 4 thru 12 from public, private and home schools in the Greenbrier Valley. Student artwork is judged by a panel of judges selected by Carnegie Hall and the categories are mixed media, drawing, water color, painting in oil or acrylic, pastel and photography. The opening reception will take place on First Friday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm and the exhibit will be on display in the Old Stone Room thru March 27th. Carnegie Hall is lcoated at 105 Church Street. Trillium Performing Arts at the Lewis Theatre premiers Creative Convergence, a concert of Contemporary Dance and Movement Theatre at 7:30p, followed by a free “meet the artists” reception with snacks and beverages. Enjoy the music of Django Burroughs on guitar, singing his original and other compositions at Plants Etc. at 102 South Jefferson Street, 304-645-6910.

Stop by the Irish Pub to hear Patrick O’Flaherty play lively Celtic tunes from 4pm to 8:30pm, followed by The Rivertown Gypsies, who will take the stage at 9pm. Enjoy live music, tasty beverages and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The pub is located at 109 East Washington Street, 304-645-7386.

The Greenbrier County Visitors Center premieres their March “Art in the Valley” show, featuring a beautiful display of quilts presented by the Alderson Quilters and Crafters Guild. Members of the guild will be on hand in the center to demonstrate and discuss the art of quilt making. During your visit, enjoy the music of Some of Strum Sum Band throughout the evening.

Bella The Corner Gourmet shares their newest collection of Top Ten Wines Under $10! A sampling of wines and new foods will be available. Bella is located at 100 E Washington Street, 304-520-4921.

The Youth center, also known as The Hub, located in the old Fort Savannah building, will be open for young folks, middle & high school ages, from 4pm to 9pm to enjoy a pool table, ping pong table, fooz ball table, art supplies, games, wi-fi, popcorn …. all FREE! First Fridays after 5 takes place all year long in downtown Lewisburg with shops, galleries and restaurants in downtown Lewisburg open until 9pm serving complimentary refreshments and entertainment, sponsored by City National Bank.
