poor clares LBSPY

Get ready Lewisburg! The Poor Clares are bringing the music of Ireland to the Irish Pub on Friday, April 10th. This band has performed at some of the largest Irish Music Festivals in the United States and abroad. Their albums are Change of Habit, Songs for Midwinter and Resurrected Lover – all of which were well received by the international traditional community – and each member has also released a number of solo releases.

Band members are Patrick O’Flaherty, Betsy McGovern, Justin Murphy and Beth Patterson. It was in O’Flaherty’s former pub in the heart of the French Quarter, where this premium Irish group was formed. They made their debut at the New Orleans Jazz Fest in 1992 and were hailed by B97 radio as “the surprise hit of the fest.” They have been playing all over to rave reviews ever since to include the Milwaukee Irish Festival which is the largest Irish Festival in the world. Don’t miss this show! Tickets are just $12 and concert starts at 7:30pm.

Other events at the pub include The Rivertown Gypsies on Saturday, April 11th at 8pm. Little Sparrow plays Thursday, April 16th, 8pm; Allan Sizemore takes the stage on Thursday, May 14th, 8pm; and The Boatmen perform w/ Flying Dog Brewery on Thursday, May 21st. Whiskey Wednesdays are held weekly with whiskey specials and live music. The April line up is Jim Snyder on the 8th, Josh Baldwin on the 15th, Matt Evans on the 22nd, and Allan Sizemore on the 29th.
