On Friday, October 4th, 2013, Uncle Hamish & The Hooligans will be kicking off this year’s Alleghany Highland’s Heritage Festival in downtown Clifton Forge, VA. Their performance will be held at the Masonic Ampitheatre, 7:30pm.

This is a five member Celtic rock band performing on highland bagpipes, whistles, flute, mandolin and other instruments of the like. Their influences include: Seven Nations and Enter the Haggis. Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans origins stem from a desire to escape the various forms of music each member was involved in. They all had an overwhelming need to be part of a band that was truly different and special.

The Heritage Festival is a celebration of Alleghany Highlands’ heritage in food, music. games and arts and crafts. Historical and Genealogical Society Displays, Chamber and Civil War Trails Presentations. Blacksmithing, quilting, basket making, felted wool, spinning, glass making, doll-making, knitting, pottery, beading, peg loom weaving, fly tying, story telling, musical instrument demonstrations. Irish, Scottish, Soul Food, German, American food. Horse shoes, quoits, cross cut saw, spikes and rails, and more.
