Saturday, Dec 8: Laughin’ in Lewisburg at Wild Bean

A very robust man, a Comicon enthusiast and two West Virginia locals walk into a coffee shop to tell some jokes. What’s the punch line you ask? There isn’t one, this is really happening. On Saturday, December 8th The Wild Bean in downtown Lewisburg presents “Laughin’ In Lewisburg. Our beloved home town’s first ever live and uncensored stand-up comedy show! Show producer and host Ian Lutz (who popped his cherry working in the Las Vegas comedy scene for several years) has assembled a crack team of comics to come and help y’all bust your guts laughing and forget about your holiday woes. Fair warning, due to adult content the show is 18 years and up ONLY!

Headliner Tim Loulies (aka The Big 44) hails from Portsmoth, VA and brings an upbeat style of comedy that has entertained audiences from all walks of life. His unapologetic observations, mis-directed jokes and imposing stage presence have been felt from coast to coast. A 20+ year veteran of the comedy biz, Tim started his comedy career performing anywhere that would let him tell jokes. Sometimes in places most comics would never dream of performing. Whether he’s in a comedy club, biker bar, funeral wake, or even a nudist colony (that really happened), he’ll work a crowd. “The Big 44” has performed at such legendary venues the Apollo Theater in Harlem, Hollywood Improv & the Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles and has been heard on Sirius XM Radio. He’s also worked with 4 cast members of Saturday Night Live, 4 WWE Hall of Famers, in addition to such names in the world of stand up as Tony Rock, Guy Torry, John Witherspoon and Bruce Bruce. But most importantly, the dude is funny.

Feature Derek Williams is one of the funniest comedians from the beaches of Virginia. He will bring out your inner geek, whether it be his addiction to going to comic book conventions, his impressions of your favorite Saturday morning cartoons, he brings it all to the table. Derek has competed and placed in many comedy contests including the Virginia Beach and Richmond Funnybone Clash of the comics earning multiple 1st place spots. He was featured in the Norfolk Comedy Festival and has worked with and opened for many comics including Godfrey, Steve O, Josh Blue, and many more.

Special guest comic Lawton Parnell hails from Morgantown, WV and lived for a spell working and doing comedy in NYC. He and Ian met at an open mic in Las Vegas and have been looking forward to working on a comedy show ever since.

Again, the show is 18 years and up only, so better not bring yo’ kids! Beers will be available for those 21 and up. So get your people together and come ready to have a good time. The doors will open at 8, show starts at 9. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door, available at the Wild Bean location on Washington St. and at thewildbrew.com. Sponsored by The General Lewis Inn and whoisdingusstinkfinger.com. See you there!!
