Sat. June 14: Ronceverte River 5k & Walk

The Greenbrier East High School (GEHS) and Eastern Greenbrier Middle School (EGMS) Cross Country teams will host the Ronceverte River Festival 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk this Saturday, June 14th, 2014. The 5K race will begin at 8:00 a.m. near Factory Tire Outlet on Monroe Avenue in Ronceverte and follow 219 to River Road and back again. The 1 mile walk will also begin at 8 a.m. and follow Monroe Avenue along the river and back. Race day registration is 7:00 – 7:30 a.m. and $25 for adults and $20 for youth under 18.

This will be the first year Greenbrier East High School will host the WVSSAC State Regional qualifiers for the WVSSAC State Cross Country Championships. The GEHS and EGMS cross country teams are excited about developing their programs and are dedicated to raising the funds for much needed timing equipment and race supplies. This race will be an annual fund-raiser for the teams as they combine their home meets. We invite the community to get behind our young athletes by attending their fund-raisers and meets. Your participation will demonstrate just how important these young athletes are to our future. We sincerely appreciate your support!
