Celebrating 1 Year: The Fiddlehead by Gillian McGinn

If you’re looking for a place to enjoy great local entertainment and/or great food and drinks, the Fiddlehead is a nice place to be this winter. The menu is suited to the mountain views: get some Logger Nachos and a West Virginia Craft Beer while taking in the local scene. The Fiddlehead is now celebrating its 1-year anniversary and we sat down with the team to find out more.

1. What is the Fiddlehead?

We are a restaurant/bar and music venue located at the intersection of highway 219 and WV 66 in Slatyfork, WV, just a few miles from Snowshoe Mtn. This is a natural/casual atmosphere where both tourists and locals come together to enjoy great entertainment, food, and drinks. We serve local WV craft beers, burgers, hand cut fries, pizzas, salads, as well as vegetarian dishes.

Good beer selection and fun atmosphere. Very good service by Emily! – Sophia S.

2. How often do you have live music?

At least three times a week but we try to have it every night. Wednesday is open mic night. Music always starts at 10pm.

We had fast, friendly service and portions were large. My fish tacos were delicious and affordable. A great experience and place to grab a beer and a bite! – Jimmie B.

3. What are your most popular dishes?

We have a few popular menu items including: the Loggers Nacho made with house-fried chips and blackbeans with pepper jack cheese. The Tomato Bisque with Gouda cheese and Cilantro. There’s also the California Burger that is served with Smoked Gouda, Chipotle BBQ, and avocado. We recently installed a pizza oven! We are now firing up delicious pies topped with house made organic sauces.

4. Do you have anything for those of us with a sweet tooth?

Yes, desserts are served daily. Today we suggest the coconut cream pie, pecan pie, and cheesecake.

5. What are your price ranges?

Most of our menu items are under $10 (mainly burgers, sandwiches, salads).

6. Do you offer nightly specials?

Every Wednesday all wings are $3.00 off the regular price. Our wings are served with your choice of three sauces: Thai Coconut Curry Peanut, BBQ, or Teriyaki. The wings are also a very popular choice nightly.

7. What are your hours?

Wednesday through Sunday, we are open from 4pm-late. We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

8. How can we stay updated with your entertainment schedule?

Please visit us at:
fiddleheadrestaurant.com. We have a calendar of events listed on the site. You can also find us on facebook, where we post updates almost daily.
